Question

All medical bills have been paid by no fault insurance. The county has already placed a lien notice. What can they take and what for? Potential settlement is around 150,000.

Answer

Your attorney should be able to tell you the lien amounts claimed on the settlement, and he/she may be able to negotiate them down. You might also want to ask them about setting up a 'Supplemental Needs Trust' (IF you are eligible) so that the amount you receive from the settlement will not affect your continued eligibility for Medicaid or SSI. Best of luck.
