I received a stipulation of partial discontinuance with prejudice, in a medical malpractice without really understanding or sign

May 10, 2018

Question

My lawyer signed, I didn’t. I was given a little sum of money that I shouldn’t have taken, but I was under a lot of duress, now I have 50,000 of medical bills and medical problems due to this lawsuit that was never truly settled

Answer

A Stipulation of Partial Discontinuance with Prejudice doesn't end the case - it only lets (usually) one defendant out, after its been determined that they had minimal fault only, or for some other good reason... You really should be asking your lawyer what's going on with the other defendants.
