Can I take legal actions after falling down slippery service entrance stairs?

April 5, 2018

Question

I recently fell going down a building service entrance staircase (it was snowing and the stairs were slippery) and injured my elbow. I’m pretty sure my elbow is fractured but at the moment I cannot afford medical bills.

Answer

If it was snowing at the time, you'd have a tough time holding the building accountable, as they're not required to clear during a snowstorm... A fractured elbow is serious (radial, median and ulnar nerves pass through the elbow), so make sure you get to a hospital...
