Question

I had a forgery conviction in Texas in 1994 that is on my record, can it be used for my injury case 21 years later?

Answer

If the case goes to trial, defense counsel may try to use it against you before a jury. If you haven't already done so, you should raise this concern with your lawyer. If, on the other hand, the facts of your case can be independently proven (by other witnesses or records, etc.), and your credibility is less crucial as such, it would be less damaging. You may also benefit from the fact that it was 23 years ago...
